Weaving words and music together in an artisan fashion, singer/songwriter Maij (pronounced My-sh...Long Y, one syllable!) unites Melody and harmony along with sophisticated word-play that creates a very unique sound. His influences, and thus his writing style is eclectic.

His latest endeavor is an off-shoot from No man's Land..."The Area 51 Project", an acoustic presentation of his and Garth O'Brien's origiinal songs.

Maij plays a variety of instruments, but writes primarily on acoustic guitar. In No Man's Land, he sings both lead and backing vocals and plays bass guitar. In "The Area 51 Project", he plays acoustic guitar and sings lead on about two thirds of the material.

A graphic artist as well, Maij has supplied icons, and original art work found both on this website and his CDs, "No Man's Land" and "Full Burn...stones thrown from a glass house."

His artwork is also available on many products that can be purchased on his OnLine Store. Just click on this site's 'Products' page. Your a click away from the store!

Maij has served as both producer and chief engineer for both CDs "No Man's Land" and "Full Burn...stones thrown from a glass house." Go to his 'Products' page for a copy of the CD!

Maij is no stranger to the northern California music scene. He was the founding member of "No Man's Land", "Steal Head" and "Calico", all three trail-blazing classic rock outfits very well known in the northern California area. He is now the progenitor of "The Area 51 Project", or simply "Area 51".

Maij is a martial artist as well. He is both a certified instructor and 2nd degrree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Finally, to contact Maij in order for booking just go to the 'Contact' page, and click on nomansland@sonic.net. Give your venue, the date of the event, how many people you are expecting, and the time of the show. Maij will get back to you within 24 hours with an online estimate!

Garth O'Brien - Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist/Drummer.

Garth W/Symbols #3 Bio Pic 10/28/07

Garth O'Brien speaks his mind and approaches his guitar playing and drumming in a similar manner. He has supplied back bone and syncopated bite to the No Man's Land Sound-scape.

A guitar player as well, Garth brings an understanding to the percussive approach of No Man's Land.

And now supplying lead and rhythmn to "The Area 51 Project", his understanding of music theory is displayed in a much more up-front fashion.

He currently sings about one third of Area 51's material as well as supplies most of the lead guitar work. When he's not singing lead, he supplies backing vocals to each and every song.

He has co-written two of the Project's songs, "Voodoo", and "Blind Sided". Is there more partner-writing in the future for this duo? Only time will tell!!!

Supplying lead and backing vocals that blend very well to what has become the No Man's Land sound, Garth has added vital elements to No Man's Land territorial boundaries. Garth was originally featured as an occasional lead vocalist. This worked out much better than origianlly hoped for! Garth now is lead vocalist on at least a third of the material that No Man's Land performs live.

With Earth-shattering kick and that smack-it-right-in-your-face touch, Garth adds vital ingredients to the rhythm section of the band, No Man's Land... that of foundation and infra-structure!

Garth has also played guitar in several northern california bands, as well as playing drums for the hard-hitting rock band, "Mountain Dawg".

Garth is such demand that he also plays in two side projects. He is drummer/vocalist for both 'Raising Cain' and lead guitarist/backing vocalist for 'Peggy Day and the Gypsy Kights'.

Side note: "The Area 51 Project" was something that both Garth and Maij had been individually thinking about for most of 2007, but neither brought it up until mid May! Great minds think alike!!
